Before the Team Shows Up
Timing a Trial
Trialling a Defender:

Trialling a Healer:
Post-Trial
- When asked to do a trial, look up the trialee on the high scores. They need
-
- Attackers need
-
- If the trialee is unranked, confirm that they have Level 5 in all roles
- Search discord's #rank-up-trial-notes for the trialee's name to see if they have previously trialled for the role. If they have previously trialled, make sure they have respected the cooldown time before retrialling and read the notes on why they failed/practice-listed.
- For attacker trials, you should check the trialee's gear setup to ensure it adheres to the requirements, and notify them that crystal halberd is still used in trials. For healer/defender trials you should inquire about the codes and methods they are going to use during the trial.
- Form a team in the channel (e.g. T+3 atk role)
- On attacker trials: You should have a competent collector and defender.
- On defender trials: You should have a competent healer.
- On healer trials: You should have a competent defender.
- The trialee gets to choose the world.
- Once you're in Wave 1 with your trial team, use the scroll on the trialee 4 times to verify they have Level 5 in all
- Use the Trialling Form to keep track of the wave times for the trial, you can also do this manually and forgo the trialling form, but make sure you round times up to the closest 6s interval.
- A lot of things happen during a trial and a lot can be missed. It is a good habit to record your trials, which you can then later quickly review to confirm certain aspects. Furthermore, recorded trials may also be beneficial in reviewing underperforming ranks.
Timing a Trial
Attacker and Healer trials must be timed.
The Trialling Form includes sections for you to input the wave end time under Real Time. As a wave can only end every 6 seconds (e.g. 30s, 36s, 42s, etc), the Trialling form will automatically round your time. For example, if an Attacker finishes at 32s, the time will be automatically rounded up to 36s. The round time is calculated by adding up the wave times and adding 75s for lobby time and omega egg time. However, timing is not the only criterion used to determine whether or not a trialee passes. You must take other factors into account as well.
For the Healer role, waves 1-3 have minimum wave times of 30s, 42s and 48s respectively that are automatically enforced by the Form. If the Trialee underperformed and exceeded these, your Real Time should reflect this and the Rounded Time will adjust accordingly.
Note that the Trialling Form rounds up every 6 seconds, which means if a wave 6 ended on 60 seconds and you input 60 in the Real Time, the Rounded Time will write 66. Therefore, waves that ended exactly on the 6s timer will need to be reduced in order to give a fair final time. A 60s wave 6 therefore might be witten as 59.4 or even 59.

Trialling a Defender:
When you trial a new Defender make sure the Healer is ranked already so there's no problems with calls/spread/lures when judging the Defender.
Explicit trialling expectations are found at the bottom of this page: http://defguide.baservices.site
You must check the Defender for:
- Leader: Attacker
- 2nd: Collector
- 3rd: Healer
- 4th: Star (Defender)
- 5th: Person Trialling (Defender)
Explicit trialling expectations are found at the bottom of this page: http://defguide.baservices.site
You must check the Defender for:
- Required - The trialee must be using an Imcando Hammer. Not using the hammer is grounds for immediate dismissal.
- Waves 1-4: Make sure they drop mainstack food before the first runner's second movement cycle.
- Waves 5-10: The Defender must delay at cannon until the 12s healer spawns, delay at mainstack for the 18s healer, multi-kill the runners, lure the final healers (make sure the Defender is in position to lure by the time the final healers start spawning), and unstack lures (must be able to split into two stacks; triple unstack on Wave 7 or 10 is not necessary). The defender is required to be at logs at 24s in order to keep a/c block intact.
- Waves 6-10: The Defender must get two logs or be very consistent with 1 log.
- Waves 6-10: The Defender must show some knowledge of staggering multi-kills. It doesn't have to be perfect but they must demonstrate they know how to stagger.
- RECOMMENDED: The Defender must be able to recover from unexpected mistakes. The way you should test their recovery skills is by running through them as they are stacking runners on ONE WAVE (must be Wave 5-9). Any strategy that successfully lures the final healers & kills the remaining runners smoothly is considered a good recovery. However, if by any chance the Defender struggles to recover runners and healer lures, the result of the trial may be FAIL or PRACTICE LIST depending on how severe the struggling was. Having a runner run through the south cave is highly recommended to FAIL.
Trialling an Attacker:
The scroll order should be:
In the lobby, if the attacker has 75-84 Defence, you should verbally verify that he has a Ring of suffering (ri). This can then be further verified by checking to see if monsters get hit 1 damage from recoils. Ironmen trialees are not required to have Dinh's, but are required to have a Crystal halberd.
Use the checklist in the Trialling form to check these additional points:
Target attacker times, as specified on the trial page:
w1: ≤42
w2: ≤48
w3: ≤54
w4: ≤60
w5: ≤66
w6: ≤84
w7: ≤96
w8: ≤102
w9: ≤108
w10: ≤96
- Leader: Person Trialling (Attacker) (mandatory for trialee to scroll)
- 2nd: Collector
- 3rd: Healer
- 4th: Star (Attacker)
- 5th: Defender

Use the checklist in the Trialling form to check these additional points:
- Kill orders: The attacker should be aware of the kill order in order to prevent late spawns. There is a bit of variance in terms of the actual attacking order, but the monster targetting should reflect the trialee's knowledge of what to prioritize
- Comp bow / 3rd age bow: The attacker should be able to run up, use the Comp bow and switch to the MSB (i) without losing any ticks (usage of 3rd age bow is fine as well, but keep an eye out for lost ticks).
- Eggs: The attacker should kill monsters early enough (i.e. not switching targets excessively) so the collector has early eggs
- Target switch: The attacker should not lose ticks between targetting monsters (e.g. he should switch and target a different monster if he expects the last hit to kill a monster)
- Stays west: The attacker should not cross the healer lure lines
- A/C + spec: The attacker should be able to keep some of the monsters behind the a/c block and use Dinh's/Chally appropriately. They should spec in the first half of the 2nd call.
- Wave 10 yellow egg forcing and duping the omega is required in the trial. Ensure the trialee is using valid strategies for both.
- Also, verify to make sure the attacker does not come close to dying on Wave 9.

Trialling a Healer:
It is important to have the whole team ranked in their respective roles. The scroll order should be:
Note that waves 1-3 have minimum wave times of 30s, 42s and 48s respectively that are automatically enforced by the Form. Note down proper restock timings for Waves 6-10, as well as the condition of the healer spread (good or bad) and Defender lures (can also range from good to bad/missed, affecting the healer's performance).
Overstocking is allowed. If the trialee plans on overstocking, it is recommended that you ask them what codes they are planning on using.
You must check the Healer for:
- Leader: Attacker
- 2nd: Collector
- 3rd: Person Trialling (Healer)
- 4th: Star (Healer)
- 5th: Defender

You must check the Healer for:
- Waves 1-2: The healer must fill the vial and use it to heal the collector who is spamming damage using divine potions. During a trial, the collector might not bring divines. In this case, the healer is still expected to do the proper movements as if the collector was damaged.
- The healer must not run through (phase) the Defender at any time. If this happens, it should have a meaningful impact on your final decision.
Post-Trial
- Give the trialee feedback after the trial if necessary. All trials are now run through discord tickets so ensure you give this feedback on discord in order to have a record of the conversation for future scenarios.
- Post in #rank-up-trial-notes on discord with the final results and a summary of the trial/impressions.
- Trialee exact name
- Pass/Plist/Fail
- Time
- Impressions/needs to work on
- Does this rank feel like a secret alt?
- If failed/practice-listed, can retrial in x days
- If passed/practice-listed, request a rank-up on the forums and in the cc to x nana/smiley if indicated
- Give the trialee the link to new.baservices.site and guide them through the steps. The registration code for the forums is queen arthur (case-sensitive).
- Be sure to explicitly inform the trialee that prior to joining a leech team they must:
- Complete registration on the forums
- Join the BAS Discord server and link their forum account with Discord
- Read the rulebook in its entirety
- Learn / become familiar with the leech collector role
- Receive their rank (nana) in game
- Close the discord trial ticket if fail/pass following the feedback/questions session. If p-list, leave the ticket opened for the duration of the p-list for the rank to ask any questions they may have and need help with.
- If the rank failed, you must tell them that they can retrial in 7 days.
- If the rank was a nice person and the trial was promising, invite them to the BA School at: school.baservices.site
- Ideally, give them the 2-3 main things they need to work on before their next trial, this can often help when it's a clear fail, even if there's many things wrong with the trial.
- Practice-listed trialees can, but are not required to, retrial after 4 days. However, they must retrial within 2 weeks unless otherwise specified, or else they lose their practice-list status.
- If a practice-listed trialee was a nice person and the trial was promising, invite them to the BA School at: School.baservices.site
- Be sure to explicitly inform the trialee that prior to joining a leech team they must:
- Complete registration on the forums
- Join the BAS Discord server and link their forum account with Discord
- Read the rulebook in its entirety
- Receive their rank (smiley) in game
- Inform the trialee that Practice-listed ranks are NOT allowed to collect.
- Inform the trialee that as a p-list, he will only be entitled to a 75% earning for his contribution in a leech. The rest of the 25% will be split with the remaining full ranks.
- You must update the Practice list page with the RSN and expiry date of the practice list period.
- Leave the discord trial ticket opened for the duration of the practice-list and invite the p-list to ask any questions, post any videos etc for feedback throughout the duration of their p-list time.
